Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018...

Just an arty shot of me looking out onto the River Humber,,,

It's crazy to think that in 14 hours, 2017 will be over and we're going into 2018. This year has flown by in my opinion and that's scary for me because 2018 is going to be a big year for me: I turn 16, I am taking my GCSEs, and I'm moving on from secondary school to college which is something I am nervous for but also very excited for!

Throughout the year I've been on lots of adventures, lets call them, to places throughout the country and also abroad. In January I went to Manchester for the weekend which was so nice as Manchester is one of my favourite cities! In May, my family had our annual weekend trip away to the Lake District, where my dad would complete a marathon around Lake Windermere. I always love this trip despite the bad weather that sometimes hits us whilst we're there, because I feel a lot more adventurous because I'm in more of a natural setting than a lot of my other holidays. I have a post about this weekend trip which is on my blog. My big holiday this year was in August and it was to Malta with 11 of my family members. We spent two weeks in sunny Malta, to places such as Mellieha, Sliema and Gozo, and I absolutely loved it even if I didn't get that tanned! If you want to know more about this holiday, I did a travel diary back in August which will be linked here. Another holiday I did a post on was the London/ Liverpool trip that we went on in October. Both these cities are some of my favourites so I was excited to go back! We also went to Windsor and Chester which were both beautiful places, and were very historic. The final trip we went on was for Christmas to Centre Parcs which I wrote a little bit about in my last post. I was so happy to spend Christmas in such a beautiful place with my family. I spent the time biking, swimming, taking photos, drinking Starbucks and then after all this: two days of illness whilst I was there which meant two days in the lodge, but I definitely made the most of my time there!

As well as going on lots of adventures, I discovered some new hobbies this year, and they have been ones I have loved. I have got more into photography and Instagram this year, although my feed is still not perfect! I've got more into editing photos too, which is making my Instagram photos that little bit better! Another hobby I have gotten into and one that will be useful for the future is calligraphy which I became interested in just over a month ago. This will be useful for making my bullet journal look a little bit less boring! I still need a lot of practise because it doesn't come naturally to me, and I am far from a professional. Over the course of the year I have began to become more adventurous with makeup and also fashion which I am happy about because even if it sounds cringey, I want to find who I am, and being more adventurous would hopefully help me to find this.

Obviously one of the major things I have done this year is set up this blog. I was a bold decision I made back in February, but one I am so happy I made, because so far these past 10 months have been some of the best through this experience, and I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way, and I hope that 2018 will be a year where my blog will grow and my skills as a writer will hopefully develop by the end of 2018!

The final part of this ramble is just a massive thank you. I want to thank my Mum, Dad and Sister for supporting me throughout 2017 and making it such a good year. I want to thank my 3 best friends that I'm ending the year with: Faith, Tom and Harry, because I had never imagined to end the year with you crazy 3, but you lot are some of the best friends a girl could have. (sorry that was so cringey!) I hope that next year nothing can really change even if we all go to different colleges! I also want to thank all my blogging and internet friends for being so supportive with my blog this year!

I'm sorry if this ramble has been so long, but I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you all have an amazing 2018! For the last time this year, love

mee xo
