Bullet Journal Set Up: February 2018

Since getting my bullet journal at Christmas, I've been so excited to write posts about it as it is a new experience for me, and one I have been loving so far. I was going to wait until I was more used to setting up my bullet journal before writing about my spreads but I thought I'd want to track my progress with bullet journaling, so I've decided to upload my setup for February. If you want more bullet journal posts, please let me know as I will be more than happy to write them!

The first couple of pages were just to separate my January and February spreads, so I just wrote out a title page with the word "February" obviously in calligraphy, and I drew a heart around it and created sort of a wreath by adding hearts around the centre, which I coloured in 3 different shades of red. I also decided to write out a quote to set up the month, and I chose "happy girls are the prettiest" as I wanted to fill this month with a lot of love and happiness with it be…

note to self: my thoughts

One of the things I have been trying to get into more is reading, and I received a few books for Christmas so I wanted to get through a couple of books I already had before starting with the new ones, and the first of these was Note to Self by Connor Franta.
I found this to be one of the most heart-warming, inspirational and deep diaries I have read, and is one that can be relatable to say the least. It shows us how he battles social anxiety and depression on a day to day basis, and also self-love and acceptance. There are many life experiences which he describes and they make you think about some decisions you make in your own life, and experiences that you've lived through, and view them in a different way.
As well as this, there are some incredible short poems, aesthetically pleasing photos and letters, which create such a raw and emotional book. I think the book is simple and minimalistic but beautiful at the same time, through his words and photographs, it creates such a pe…

Makeup I am Currently Loving!

I haven't done a makeup favourites in a really long time, and I have been in love with 6 products recently, and I want to share my views on them today. (apologies for the pictures, I was very rushed as it was getting dark!)

The first product has been the PS Primer Water, and I have been using this religiously for the past month or so. It's really hydrating and does a good job at keeping my makeup on for the day, and for the price it is such a good primer water. I usually just spray this onto my face and it is so refreshing! When I run out of this product I am definitely buying this again because it is one product that has surprised me!

The next product I am in love with is the Rimmel Clear Complexion Powder. I began using the Stay Matte Powder a couple of months ago, but I never really liked it and I much preferred this powder, even though they are quite similar. I find it hard to rate a powder, but this one mattes my face pretty well and it isn't really dark so doesn'…

What's in my Bag 2018??

I did one of these posts a while ago, but that was a while ago, so the contents of my bag has definitely changed. I'll have to check the old post, which is linked, although it is atrocious as it was one of my first ever posts!
A bit about my bag: it is a little black rucksack from Fiorelli, and I got this for Christmas last year, and it is the perfect size for all the thing I keep in my bag. I haven't changed my bag since the last one because I love it too much!

The first thing I keep in my bag is my phone, and I have the iPhone 6s as I recently upgraded it, and I am in love. I cannot go anywhere without my phone, it is just too handy, and something I cannot leave at home. I sound so addicted to social media, and I try not to be! My phone also comes in handy when I'm travelling to the neighbouring town, because I can listen to music!

The next thing which I always take out with me is my purse, and this hasn't changed since doing my last 'What's in My Bag??'…

Favourite Songs Right Now!

As always I'm one who loves discovering new (and old this month) music, and I've had many favourites over the month which I am going to share with you.
River- Eminem ft Ed Sheeran I was a bit late to the release of this and only discovered this song about 10 days ago, and I fell in love with it pretty much straight away. Ed Sheeran's vocals are incredible and Eminem is one of the best rappers of all time so the combination of the two artists is amazing! I would recommend listening to this is you're a fan of either or both artists, because it won't disappoint!
More- Usher This was a song I loved when it first came out back in 2010, because it's one that I think would go down so well at a party, and would be one that everyone would like. I have always liked Usher's music, although it has never been my favourite apart from this song which is an absolute jam!
In the Air Tonight- Natalie Taylor After recently becoming obsessed with Eva Igo (a dancer from NBC…

Lessons I've Learned From My Mocks & Motivation Tips

After completing my mocks about a month and a bit ago, I've been keen to share some advice and lessons I've learned because they are lessons I think most of us need to learn during exam seasons. I am also going to share with you some of the tips I have for motivation and not procrastination which to be honest, I would rather do sometimes!
My first big lesson I've learned is to not burn out. I am one for revising too hard because I believe that I don't know it, however, this has ended in a couple of little breakdowns which could have been avoided, however, it is completely natural. I've learned this because after receiving my results, I could see that I'm actually doing fairly well, and I did manage to pass all my mocks, achieving grades 8-5 which is A*-C in the old specification for those of you who are unaware of the new grades. I am in no way a straight A or A* student and I don't aspire to be, I just aspire to do the best I can, without burning out, bec…

Soph X Revolution Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches!

I've been so excited to write this post since planning this because this palette is my new obsession. I am in love with this palette! And if you haven't guessed already what I'm on about, it is the Soph X Revolution eyeshadow palette, and yes, this did come out back in September but my town has only just started to stock it in our local Superdrug, and pretty much everywhere I looked it was sold out! So I'm back writing a review today on this product.
Starting with the eyeshadows themselves, there are 14 mattes and 10 shimmers which is such a good ratio in my opinion as the mattes cover your transition shades, crease shades, and also Soph did say that some of the shades can be doubled up and used for eyebrow powders or contour shades which makes this palette very versatile. There are such a variety of shades too in my opinion, you have your classic creams, browns and golds however, there is a shimmery green, a shimmery purple and a blue (although this is actually brown…

What I Got For Christmas 2017!

Firstly, I would like to just say that this post should have gone up a few days earlier, however I have only just received all of my presents so it has gone up a lot later than expected, and I will explain why it has gone up so late, later. This Christmas I have received so many amazing presents and I am truly thankful for each and every one of them, and I may not have tonnes and tonnes of presents but to he honest, I didn't ask for much so some of these came as a surprise! Thank you to anyone who gave me a present, a card, or even just a message on my social medias, I am so grateful! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas too!
Starting with my parents, the first present I received was one I was elated about since booking it last year: a Christmas holiday to Centre Parcs. Since finding out the news we'd be going, I have been counting down the days, and on the 22nd we travelled to Sherwood Forest to spend 6 days in the forest, including the 22nd. It has been an incredible ho…
