note to self: my thoughts

One of the things I have been trying to get into more is reading, and I received a few books for Christmas so I wanted to get through a couple of books I already had before starting with the new ones, and the first of these was Note to Self by Connor Franta.

I found this to be one of the most heart-warming, inspirational and deep diaries I have read, and is one that can be relatable to say the least. It shows us how he battles social anxiety and depression on a day to day basis, and also self-love and acceptance. There are many life experiences which he describes and they make you think about some decisions you make in your own life, and experiences that you've lived through, and view them in a different way.

As well as this, there are some incredible short poems, aesthetically pleasing photos and letters, which create such a raw and emotional book. I think the book is simple and minimalistic but beautiful at the same time, through his words and photographs, it creates such a peaceful atmosphere that stirs up a lot of emotions.

I do just want to take a minute to appreciate the photography in this because being interested in photography and Instagram, I love looking at aesthetically pleasing feeds with stunning pictures, and some of the photos in this book are absolutely phenomenal! Even if you don't like reading, just buy it for the pictures!

Connor describes this as "this is me spilled out on paper" and I think that's exactly what it is, an unfiltered book which explains life as it comes, not how it's presented on the internet. This has earned him so much respect because nobody's life is perfect and this diary presents this message perfectly.

Have you read this book?? What did you think?? love
